This is a Full-time position in Langhorne, PA posted March 22, 2021.

Overview

This position utilizes teaching techniques, materials and professional consultation as necessary to develop, refine and enhance the vocational skills of individuals. Maintains consistent records of individual’s behavior, work performance and payroll. Oversees enclaves staffed by individuals we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and maintains enclaves both on and off campus to meet the needs of identified individuals.
  • Responsible to interview, hire and train individuals to provide consistent, quality services at all enclaves assigned. Plans and implements productive and educational activities for individuals while working during downtime.
  • Works with cash and credit card purchases accurately in a sales environment using designated equipment and technologies. Responsible to exchange and balance funds with efficiency.
  • Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and inventory of each enclave assigned.
  • Maintains accurate attendance and payroll records for individuals participating in the enclaves.
  • Maintains consistent records of individual behavior, work performance/production and progress. Prepares and submits all required reports, as necessary.
  • Maintains a safe organized work environment, ensuring materials and supplies are kept clean and in good working order.
  • Attends and participates in training sessions, staff meetings, in-service trainings and special assignments, as required.
  • Builds relationships with employers and familiarizes potential employers with benefits gained from hiring through Woods Services. Maintaining positive community and customer relations.
  • Is familiar with Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (2390 regulations), the United States Department of Labor, and funding agency requirements; ensures that all vocational programs and program planning efforts are in compliance with the above mentioned applicable licensing regulations.
  • Responsible to effectively communicate with Job Placement Coordinators and/or other departments/positions in regards to individuals’ needs and issues with employment. Maintains that communication to identify and advocate for individuals ready for independent employment.
  • Determines the need for environmental modifications in the work setting and assists in obtaining these adaptations and/or utilizes adaptive equipment as stipulated in the individual’s ISP to assist the individual in the acquisition of skills to enhance performance in specific tasks.
  • Introduces employment options and guides individuals in vocational exploration by familiarizing them with different work settings, options and responsibilities.
  • Develops and implements task analysis-based training programs with emphasis on having individuals perform the complete job to their maximum abilities
  • Assists in the coordination of transportation arrangements (if appropriate) to get individuals to and from their work sites.
  • Works evenings and weekends, as the needs of the individuals dictate or as assigned.
  • Maintains effective relationships with all levels of staff and management
  • Attends meetings, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and have a minimum of one year’s experience working with people with developmental disabilities, vocational setting preferred.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, be agile, physically pursue clients on foot, physically restrain, bend, squat, stretch, reach, push up and stand for several hours at a time.
  • Must be able to read, write, enter dates and follow verbal/written directions, prepare written reports and complete written forms in English.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate in English and direct clients, respond to clients needs.
  • Must have own transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Proof of valid automobile insurance submitted annually.
