AbilityPath is hiring a Program Instructor to join our program The Instructor provides engaging instruction and activities in support of high-quality participant servicesWHAT WE VALUE:Passion for the missionTeamwork and CollaborationEffective communication thoughtfulness and ability to adaptShared commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in creating a community where all members can thrive as their authentic selfDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to participants to help them achieve their goalsProvide pre-vocational and vocation instruction as appropriateSupervise and assist trainees with paid work activitiesConduct community outings and activitiesComplete attendance and service log records in a timely mannerUtilize appropriate modification techniques to respond to challenging behaviors and support behavioral plans to increase engagementComplete documentation for tracking participant goals and comment on progress and achievementAssist participants in daily personal hygiene as neededDrive organization vehicles as needed (transporting participants for outings, activities, etc.)Comply with participant’s rights, AbilityPath and program policies, CARF standards, NPS compliance, CCL regulations, CAL-OSHA, quality assurance standards, etc.Must act as a Mandated Reporter, and responsible to report any known or suspected adult/child abuseMust comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and lawsOther duties as assignedEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and ability is qualifying, unless otherwise specified.Associate’s or Bachelor’s in relevant fieldExperience working with adults with developmental disabilitiesLICENSING AND PRE-EMPLOYMENT:Valid California Driver’s License/IDClean driving recordProof of negative TB test resultsVerification of good physical health by physicianAbility to obtain criminal fingerprint clearanceAt least 18 years of agePHYSICAL ACTIVITY:Ability to physically respond to adults with developmental disabilitiesAbility to lift/support at least 40 lbs as neededAbility to sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequentlyAbility to walk for extended periods of time and support adults with developmental disabilities on community outingsAbility to drive company vehicles to transport participantsAbility to sit and keyboard as neededREQUIRED TRAINING:Required to complete a minimum of ten (10) hours of training or continuing education as directed and approved by your SupervisorMandated Reporter training to be provided within sixty (60) days of hire date and once each year followingCPR Certification/First Aid Training within thirty (30) days of hire date and upon expiration certification expiration dateEqual Employment OpportunityAbilityPath is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
