Child Care Instructor/Child Care Teacher (Lead) The Child Care Instructor is responsible for insuring the safety of the children. Responsible for being courteous and exercising tact and diplomacy when dealing with the public. Must be familiar with approved methods of dealing with problem behaviors of young children. Responsible for making sure that all lesson plans are carried out. Responsible for maintaining cooperative and harmonious relationships with other child care teachers, showing professionalism, independence, and willingness to learn on the job. Responsibilities Act as the principal of your classroom/ age group. Set a good example and make decisions that support both teachers and children. Be seen as a role model for less experienced teachers Share your knowledge about teaching and child appropriate practices with teachers Teach teachers to problem solve, gain confidence and learn through modeling, feedback, and recognition. Meet with teachers to develop weekly plans, activities and classroom set-ups. Use our blended curriculum to meet each child™s individual needs. Actively share children™s milestones with their families. Communicate regularly with parents to build meaningful relationships. Create learning spaces the support and enhance curriculum activities. Keep classroom supplies, daily records, and child information organized. Guide teachers on how to implement curriculum to its fullest extent. Model instructional best practices including how to use developmentally appropriate methods and how to adapt instruction to individual learners. Complete student assessments using classroom observations. Lead parent conferences. Job Requirements Ability to partner with center leadership Demonstrate effective communication skills Participates in recommend training programs, conferences, courses, or other professional growth opportunities High school diploma or equivalent Course work in Child Development or Early Childhood Education Speak, read, and write English fluently Experience developing and implementing lesson plans CRP and First Aid certifications, or willing to obtain Experience developing and implementing lesson plans
