Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Adjunct Instructor, Part Time North Georgia Technical College is seeking an EMS Adjunct Instructor on the Blairsville campus to serve multiple roles as a teacher, mentor, colleague, and scholar. Adjunct faculty are expected to excel in classroom instruction and to fulfill various responsibilities related to their assigned teaching duties. Adjunct faculty members are expected to be effective teachers and excel in course instruction. Listed below are the minimum expectations of all faculty who teach at NGTC. Faculty must demonstrate deep subject knowledge, including key concepts, current and relevant research, methodologies, tools and techniques, and meaningful applications. Responsibilities include accurate knowledge of the EMS system, including the ability to evaluate and apply content. Committed to professional development as well as staying current in the changes in the EMS profession. Maintain professional and teaching credentials as required by the Georgia office of EMS/T and CoAEMSP. Select and develop instructional materials; plan and organize instruction to enhance student learning; create appropriate assignments to encourage student learning, the development of communication skills, and higher order thinking; and use available instructional technology, as appropriate. Utilize a variety of proven methods of engagement and assessment that facilitate student mastery of the content. Provide students constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback. Evaluate student learning by creating and applying course competencies and accurately evaluating student progress. Strive to increase teaching effectiveness through the application of appropriate teaching and learning strategies; evaluate student learning and modify instructional methods and strategies as appropriate to meet diverse student needs. The position is exempt and reports to the Dean of Academic Affairs. Minimum Qualifications: Diploma in Emergency Medical Services or Paramedic Technology AND current Paramedic license AND current Level II EMS Instructor certification AND related work experience. Ability to obtain BLS Instructor certification within the first 6 months of hire. Minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant work experience. Salary/Benefits: Targeted payment is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours/No benefits.
