Deer Valley Resort: Ski Instructor Experienced – Winter 2021-22

DescriptionPURPOSE OF POSITION:Teach alpine skiing to Deer Valley guests of any age or ability zone.Eligible for the H-2B Visa. Must be fully certified at the Alpine Level 3 with 1,500 teaching hoursJOB QUALIFICATIONS:Must have excellent guest service skillsCurrent PSIA/ASSI Alpine Certification Level 1, 2 or 3Advanced skier able to ski Beginner to Expert terrain in variable conditionsAble to teach groups and private lessons to individuals and familiesAble to lift and carry 40 pounds; stand/ski six to nine hours; perform bending, lifting and twisting movementsAble to work in variable weather and snow conditionsWilling to work weekends and holidaysOwn/use alpine ski equipment; must pass boot/binding checksJOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Teach alpine skiing to students of any age or ability zone, using PSIA/AASI teaching methodology and following the safety codes of the mountainPunctuality: must be in uniform, equipped and at the meeting location on time; must adhere to lesson times, lunch breaks, clinics and schedules of the Ski SchoolPlan, organize and implement appropriate ability zone plan for each ski lesson; conduct lesson in professional mannerAttend instructor meetings, training and performance reviewsAble to work with general supervision and make reasonable decisions based upon policies and procedures outlined in company manuals; adhere to Ski School and HR policies and proceduresDisplay professional conduct with parents, children and caregivers in all situations, some of which may be stressful; write daily progress cards for students and their parentsPerform other duties as assignedDEER VALLEY SKIER SERVICES EXPECTATIONS:Exemplify a strong work ethicFunction as a team playerInteract with members of Skier Services peer group, instructors, agents and supervisors in a positive and professional mannerInteract positively with other Deer Valley Resort employeesCommunicate any suggestions or concerns to manager in a timely mannerSpeak and act professionally while on dutySupport/follow Deer Valley Resort policies and procedures, including DV Employee Handbook guidelines and the Ski School Instructor GuideBe a good example to those around you with a positive, supportive attitudeDATES OF EMPLOYMENT: December to mid AprilKeywords:ski, skiing, winter, Skier Services, PSIA, instructor, teach, full-time, seasonal, day, day-time,Deer Valley, DV, Park City, Utah, UTRequirements
