Responsibilities
MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:
Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles.
Understands, supports, and practices the Core Values in all aspects of job performance and interactions with staff and students.
Supports the Career Development Services System (CDSS) as it relates to individual position, department, and overall Center goals.
Responsible for awareness and familiarity with the National and Regional Job Corps Office goals, business plans, projects and initiatives ensuring principles and objectives are incorporated into the Center’s programming.
Adheres to all deadlines established by the Workforce Development Director.
Prepares and submits activity reports as required by the Workforce Development Director.
Ensures and maintains the highest level of Data Integrity in collection of all required documents for student participant folders ensuring accurate data.
Ensures all student folders are secured to protect PII.
Create and implement new career readiness curriculum development as needed.
Maintain CTR student Training Achievement Records.
Conducts mock interviews with students entering the Career Transition Phase of CDSS.
Provide re-orientation and further focus on job search techniques.
Counsels and assists students in preparing for employment and or further education.
Instructs students on interviewing and presentation skills.
Instructs students on soft skills for the workplace
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree or four years experience working with youth.
One year experience in sales, marketing or counseling related field.
Model company Core Values.
Must have or immediately seek Maine State Teacher’s Certification
General Information:
In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must have regular attendance.
Knowledge Required:
Sound knowledge of case management, career counseling, employment counseling and job search, job preparation and development techniques.
Must be able to effectively communicate with culturally disadvantaged and minority youth.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Excellent communication skill, both oral and written.
Must obtain and maintain valid CPR/FA certification.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students.
Ability to effectively relate to trainees and staff at all levels.
Ability to read, interpret and analyze labor trend studies.
Excellent organizational skills.
