Summary StatementThe Assistant Teacher I assists in the educational and social development of students under the direction of the Special Education Teacher.

This position is similar to the industry titles of Paraprofessional and Teacher’s Aide.

A Public Service license with a V endorsement is required during the initial employment period, and this is facilitated through Oak Hill.

Background checks will be done in accordance with the provisions of Public Act 16-67, and the Conn.

Assists students in learning self-care techniques, including toileting and personal cleanliness, performing diapering, toileting, feeding, dressing and other personal care tasks; lifting and transferring students as needed.Assists the Special Education Teacher with ongoing observation and documentation.Safely assists students into and out of school transportation, transporting students to and from school as needed.
