Essential Functions: Instructs classes in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
Keep constant visual contact with all program participants, scan constantly and use equipment safely as it was intended for use.
Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
Identify potential volunteers.
Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.
Maintains class rosters and take attendance Evaluate each student and record their progress each class.
Minimum Requirements: Minimum age 18 years of age Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification, within the first 12 months of employment must receive Water Fitness Instructor certification or equivalent.
Must be able to demonstrate water fitness instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
Must be able to think in the abstract, solve problems, make decisions, instruct and evaluate programs.
