JOB DESCRIPTION
Sorcero builds AI powered solutions, combining the power of deep learning with the accuracy of ontologies to drive natural language understanding.
Our platform and applications are used by top Pharma companies, scientists, and researchers.
We are looking for a VP, Sales to contribute in developing the revenue creation in the Pharmaceutical and Life Science markets and manage all business development and related direct sales activities.
Ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker with the ability to execute quickly.
Someone who thrives on developing new technology, challenging the status quo and is not afraid to ask questions.
A good fit would be a VP, Sales who has expertise in the Life Sciences domain and a natural curiosity for big data and analytics.
You will be expected to contribute to the decision-making process and influence the design, functionality and application of our product line.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
10+ years of proven sales experience in a startup environment and/or in the life sciences research and development field
2 years of experience working in an early startup business is a PLUS
A strong track record of go-to-market/strategic development plan (i.e.
implementing market segmentation, coverage plans for life science organizations including sales target setting by market segment/territory/sales representative
Oversees the development of the business development organization
Leads strategic and operational management of the business development function
Works directly with the senior management team to determine strategies to grow Sorcero’s business
Determines and implement specific sales and marketing strategies to drive the growth of the company
Recruits and manages an effective sales force to support company growth
Provides detailed and accurate sales forecasting on a regular basis
Assists the business development team in representing Sorcero’s interests to clients and other relevant third parties
Confidence to ask questions.
You will be an active contributor and business problem solver.
You will be expected to understand, research and solution possible design alternatives in support of the product’s success.
You have done enough projects to understand the Life Sciences customer or you’re able to quickly gather and decipher what problem our customers are trying to solve.

Effective team player and collaborator, working across Commercial, Product and Engineering business lines
High energy level and desire to succeed
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels including executives, peers, managers, and additional members of the Sorcero team
