Position Overview:

Provides high quality and timely rating by interpreting policy information received and applying premiums and codes necessary for issuing, endorsing, renewing or canceling commercial lines insurance policies, according to established procedures and authority.

Essential Functions: 

• Processes documents and requests received for policy issuance, change, renewal, reinstatement, or cancellation, according to established procedures. Determines and calculates premiums according to established Company procedures.
• Communicates, verbally and in writing, with company personnel, agents and vendors to resolve rating issues and obtain information needed to process policies.
• Develops skills necessary to quote, rate and enter all customer transactions for all lines of commercial lines of business.
• Maintains current knowledge of Business Center goals, underwriting/rating procedures and system changes which affect servicing customer.
• Assist underwriters or Team Leaders by performing underwriting support functions and duties.
• Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• 1 year insurance experience is preferred.
