Your work will have real-world impact, and you’ll be supported in achieving your career goals.The Technical Sales Specialist provides both pre-sales and post-sales technical support for the development and implementation of customer applications utilizing Thermo Scientific’s Phadia Laboratory Systems and Products.

The Technical Application Specialist will solve problems independently and within established policies and procedures.

Their primary objective is ‘to do what it takes’ to ensure satisfaction from our laboratory partners in the clinical laboratories.

In addition, the Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for driving assay utilization within the existing customer space.Key Responsibilities:Provide timely system implementation, training to customers.Present Add Assay business strategies to the customer and follow up with customer plans.Provide pre
– and post-sales support for Allergy, Autoimmune and serological products and applications as driven by aligned marketing initiatives.Manage customer base and grow the business in, but not limited to, their designated areas.Implement detailed customer installation requirementsPerform Method Verifications and assist the customer with go live.Facilitate training rotations within the lab to ensure cross training for all operators on all shiftsCoordinate implementation plans with customers for new instruments and assays.Perform work flow analysisAssist in facilitating the proper customer support for technical issuesPerform demonstrations of products and applications.Provide support to the Sales process to help close orders.Provide technical presentations on Thermo Scientific products/applications.Provide in depth competitive comparisons to support the sales process where needed and utilize the Applications Laboratory located in Freiburg, Germany, for confirmation testing.Maintain the highest degree of knowledge on our Phadia Laboratory Systems and products through training and self education.Maintain a similar level of knowledge on our competitors’ product portfolio and positioning.Attend trade show events/conferences as required.Act as mentor to the sales colleagues offering guidance on hardware, applications, demonstration strategies and interfacing with customersProvide regular feedback to product team on market issues through contacts with Product Management and Product Marketing.Provide follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications to service personnel, company sales representatives, and customer’s employeesMinimum Requirements/Qualifications:BS in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or relevant degree.2+ years direct experience in a lab environment.Ability to learn and demonstrate related software.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Availability to travel approximately 95% within territoryCommunication skills: must demonstrate technical knowledge and have the ability to present in a clear and concise manner to othersAt Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 70,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
