As a SALES REPRESENTATIVE on the Northeast team, you support the Regional Manager by identifying prospective small & midsize customers using business directories, following leads from existing clients, and attending trade shows and conferences. You contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and explain how specific products and services can meet these needs. You strengthen business relationships to increase sales, and to prospect new opportunities with companies. You will help customers select products to meet needs, product specifications, and regulations You will emphasize product features to meet the needs and exhibit product capabilities and limitations. You improve retention and increase sales within existing accounts by better assessing and addressing customer needs.
– Answer customer questions about prices, availability, and product uses
– Negotiate prices and terms of sale and service agreements
– Prepare sales contracts and submit orders for processing
– Follow up with customers to make sure they are satisfied with their purchases and to answer any questions or concerns
– Research information about the customer’s business as well as their buying habits. Conduct thorough needs assessment with each customer to understand how they are using products and uncover new sales opportunities and other buyers within the company
– Provide creative solutions and offer available promotions while maintaining business practices and guidelines. Prioritize effectively among numerous accounts and opportunities for the greatest return
– Perform data entry duties for tracking metrics, sales figures and other key data in SalesForce CRM tool and other relevant systems
– Time spent acquiring new business 50%, Retention 50%
SKILLS:
– Previous experience and proven success in a sales position, preferably in a business-to-business environment. Ability to recognize a sales opportunity and anticipate customer needs through active listening
– Previous experience and comfort level with selling over the phone. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong client relationships
– Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
– Ability to work in both a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment. Self-motivated and ability to work independently and with a team.
– Demonstrates proficiency in the utilization of Microsoft Office. Demonstrates a high level of competence regarding information technology with the ability to learn any new sales tools including Salesforce.
– Ability to successfully prospect new sales/program opportunities
– Relevant Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience and 1-3 years of sales experience
– Ability to travel up to 25%
