JOB SUMMARY:
Provide superior customer service to prospective members by determining and meeting their needs, providing information, and answering their questions in order to create increased sales through the telecommunications system. Retain, generate, and increase sales by receiving inbound telephone calls and making outbound calls as scheduled. Ensure compliance in all aspects of sales activities. Complete sales support related functions as designated. Aid customers and internal staff to resolve escalated member and provider inquiries related to enrollment requirements and benefit variables.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Handle inbound and outbound phone calls in order to increase and retain membership of all individual products. Respond to leads coming into the department. Identify and qualify leads for eligibility and direct callers to the appropriate sales process to facilitate enrollment to meet monthly enrollment goals.
- Fully support and participate on work teams, committees, and key marketing activities. Assist with all clerical work associated with enrollment, respond to inquires, and foster problem resolution whenever possible. Ensure compliance in all aspects of sales activities with internal policies as well as all regulatory agencies.
- Work with department management and external trainers to improve sales skills to increase effectiveness. Identify areas for improvement and look for process efficiencies that can be made.
- Support Senior Representatives and management when necessary on special projects.
- Review, QA, and process new member applications, change requests, and other enrollment related functions as designated.
- Assist management with department initiatives and projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High school degree or GED
- Two to four years of related experience including marketing and sales required, in a customer service research environment
- Experience in the health insurance industry preferred including certification to sell in Rhode Island
Preferred Education, Additional Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products; i.e., Word, Excel, PPT, etc
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of marketing or sales operations
- Basic knowledge of sales support processing operations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, and Word
- General computer proficiency
- Written and verbal communications skills
- Good organization skills
- Time management skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to research and organize data
- Ability to organize work efficiently to meet established time and quality standards
- Knowledge of health insurance operations
- Working knowledge of claims processing systems
