Outside Sales – Norwalk, CT

Lansing Building Products Northeast

This is a Contract position in Norwalk, CT posted January 18, 2022.

Lansing Building Products has supplied professional contractors with high-quality building products since its founding in 1955. With the 2020 acquisition of Harvey Building Products distribution business, the company brings under one roof 1,600 associates, serving customers in 100+ branches across 35 states. As we look to the future, Lansing is focused on taking the industry by storm through a best-in-class experience for our associates and our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Live our mission statement

  • Promote and sell Lansing’s products and services

  • Make 8-12 sales appointments daily between established and prospective customers

  • Increase sales and profit margins within a geographic territory

  • Develop the growth of the branch by consistently securing new business through business-to-business (B2B) sales of siding, windows, and other exterior building products

  • Cultivate and manage customer relationships

  • Assist and correct customer complaints

  • Educate customers on Lansings products and services

  • Help customers increase business while improving their profits

Qualifications:

  • Prior B2B outside sales experience in the building products, construction, or wholesale industry (preferred)

  • Strong customer service, communication, and social skills

  • All-around business professional with exceptional telephone etiquette

  • Ability to work individually and on a team

  • Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile

  • Commitment to setting and achieving goals

  • History of strong ethics and high integrity

  • College degree (preferred, but not required)
