About The Role

Summary

New Account Representatives (NARs) provide quality service and develop long term customer relationships. They perform routine teller and bank transactions, educate customers as to products/services available, open new and maintain existing deposit accounts, close accounts, issues Certificate of Deposits, open Individual Retirement Accounts and HSA accounts and other customer service duties.

NARs promote Collegiate Peaks Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. The compensation midpoint within the wage range for this position is $20.00 per hour and will vary depending on what city the applicant works in. All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Greets customers with a smile and friendly demeanor and responds to phone inquiries timely
  • Responsible for keeping all information related to customers, co-workers and the bank private and confidential. Assures that any private information is accessed only as it pertains to the performance of your position. Proactively protects Collegiate Peaks Bank and its customers from counterfeit and fraudulent activity by staying current on fraud warnings and initiating discussion with customers regarding specific transactions to prevent potential loss to customers and the bank
  • Opens and Closes: Checking, Savings, CD’s, IRA’s, HSA’s and Debit cards which includes preparing associated documents and scanning timely for record retention purposes.
  • Resets Online Banking users
  • Resolves issues and answer questions with customer accounts and provides problem-solving solutions
  • Processes wire transfers, check orders, address & telephone change requests
  • Assists customers with temporary debit card increases, pin changes/resets, travel notifications, fraud, compromised cards, disputes, and Instant Issue debit cards
  • Performs notary functions
  • Reviews and corrects errors that appear on exception logs in a timely manner
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of bank products such as checking, savings, and money market accounts, CDs, and e-banking services to be able to sell and cross sell products that best fit customer needs. Promotes High Performance Growth (HPG), Tell-A-Friend Program as well as helping with branch displays and HPG big day promotions
  • Completes all required annual compliance training and continuing education to stay current with bank policy, regulations and licensing requirements
  • Performs job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal/state rules and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC, and GLBA/privacy rules.
  • Teller Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Processes deposits, loan payments and safe deposit box rental payments
  • Examines checks for endorsement and negotiability before processing transactions
  • Processes deposits, loan payments and safe deposit box rental payments
  • Processes and prepares items including change orders, foreign items, cashier’s checks, cash advances, foreign currency orders, and US Savings Bonds
  • Scans and balances runs timely and accurately for all work processed during the day per established time frames
  • Maintains daily balancing record by correctly balancing cash, locating overages or shortages, selling excess cash to vault and maintaining established cash levels in drawer. Sorts, counts, and wraps money to be transferred to the vault and balances their drawer out at the end of their shift
  • Assists with dual control in TCR balancing, vault balancing, ATM balancing, mail deposits, day drop, and night drop processing. Completes logs timely and accurately
  • Sells prepaid Gift/Travel cards and maintains inventory logs as well as completing Gift/Travel cards monthly audit
  • Assists with incoming/outgoing currency and coin shipments and balances coin machine
  • Follows opening/closing checklist
  • Completes monthly teller certification under dual control
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • About You

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school education or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years customer service experience required
  • Minimum one year of banking experience required
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Must understand and support the Bank’s philosophy regarding customer service
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as job aids, guides, policies and procedures and demonstrate ability to apply what is applicable
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel and general PC usage
  • Ability to apply logical or critical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Demonstrate a high level of organization, ability to prioritize and multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate self-motivation and ability to follow through with tasks
  • Work well under pressure while meeting deadlines
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT:Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

    Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

    Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
