Member Services Teller: Part-Time Job detailsSalary$11 – $14.50 an hourJob TypePart-timeNumber of hires for this role1QualificationsHigh School or Equivalent (Preferred)Cash Handling Experience (Preferred)Full Job DescriptionMember Services Teller: Part-time As a valued member of our front-line staff, the major Duties and Responsibilities include:Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a timely manner.Understand products and services to be able to answer questions and recommend products and/or services to meet member financial needs. (Focus is on education of credit union members, not aggressive sales to members.)Responsible for the efficient and accurate performance of Teller functions.Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement; place holds on accounts for uncollected funds; accurately enter deposits into computer records.Process withdrawals from accounts and/or share draft/check cashing, verify amounts; enter withdrawals into system accurately.Handle member request for transfers, line of credit advances, stop payments, address changes, check orders and other similar requests.Process loan payments, cash advances, cashiers’ checks, money orders and bank-to-bank wire requests; balance cash drawer.Be responsive to member needs and notify a supervisor of concerns or problems in a timely manner. Handle member needs with professionalism and courtesy.Follow credit union policies and procedures regarding cash limits, approvals, confidentiality, and other transaction policies.Maintain respectful business relations with co-workers.Maintain and project the Credit Union’s professional reputation.Maintain privacy of member account information.Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.Ensure that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.Perform other related duties as required.Position RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED is requiredCash handling and/or customer service experience is preferredCourtesy, along with people skills and communication skills are essential. Work involves contact with others inside and/or outside the organization.
