Customer Care Representative B- Bilingual

This is a Contract position in Moorhead, MN posted February 20, 2022.

Avangrid is seeking a Bilingual Customer Service Representative (English & Spanish) to join their team in Orange, CT.

Responsibilities: Perform Customer Care duties which are diversified and require the use of a wide range of alternatives to properly handle responsibilities.

Function in accordance with good business practices and within the framework of established Company policies, procedures, and State regulations.

Respond to customer inquiries and requests concerning such things as billing, rates, service applications, service interruption, voltage, service calls and energy conservation programs including establishing, changing, updating, closing an account or inputting service order as determined.

Using prescribed equipment and methods, refer to pertinent files and data; if needed, transmit requested data to customers.

Perform evaluations and investigate, analyze, and resolve, where possible billing problems.

Take corrective action on accounts; including determining and processing allowances and late payment charges.

Perform on-line cancel and re-billing on residential and commercial accounts.

Discuss billing, off-peak adjustments, under-billing, street lights, private area lights, surge protection and any other product and services offered by UI to customers.

Educate customers concerning UIs residential rates and electronic metering, correct billing and meter reading errors.

Perform tasks associated with customer reads including taking readings by phone, checking and entering the readings.

Process service orders that do not require a field visit.

This work requires thorough knowledge of company rates and accuracy to properly calculate and process billings.

Coordinate appointments concerning customer services.

Inform customers of date and price options for service.

Contact other Company personnel when necessary to obtain or verify necessary information.

Establish deposit requirements.

Perform residential collection functions as required.

Respond to routine correspondence from customer by contacting and or drafting replies by using formatted letters as required.

Contact with electricians, homeowners, contractors and town inspectors to create and complete Standard Service Solution.

This requires knowledge of our distribution system and basic knowledge of internal electrical standards.

Make outbound calls to customer, landlords, financial institutions and local government to resolve all return bill, access problems or to promote the sale of products and services.

Must have knowledge of current issues regarding UI legislative initiatives, media releases and political news associated with the changing industry.

Market UIs energy programs.

Initiate contact with customers to market UI commodities, rates and to sell UI products and services.

Respond to inquiries via the telephone device for the deaf.

Assist in the training of new associates.

May be required to work shifts and provide call coverage on a 24-hour basis.

Must be f luent in Spanish and English reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
