Role The Accounting Policy team is looking to hire an experienced, detail-oriented accounting policy professional to assist in providing technical accounting guidance and policy setting and documentation under US GAAP on various technical matters.
Ideally the candidate will have experience with complex transactions including compensation (equity and deferred cash), consolidations, revenue recognition, debt versus equity, financial instruments, etc.
This role will report directly to the Director of Accounting Policy.
Responsibilities Assist in accounting research on technical and complex accounting topics and communicate impact including interpretations and alternative solutions to relevant stakeholders Serve as a point of contact for accounting policy and financial reporting/disclosure matters and collaborate with other internal stakeholders (financial reporting, controllers, business, legal, tax, etc.) to assess the technical accounting impact Assist in providing technical accounting guidance and document accounting analysis supporting the Company’s position on significant, technical and complex accounting transactions, etc.
in accordance with US GAAP and consistent with internal accounting policies Assist in the development and implementation of new accounting policies and update of existing accounting policies under US GAAP Monitor standard setting developments under US GAAP/SEC and document and analyze impact to the Company Assist in the implementation and adoption of new and updated accounting standards including impact assessment relevant for the Company Assist in providing training to Accounting Group and other functions on relevant new and emerging accounting issues and topics Attend external industry meetings Perform the quarterly consolidation assessments monitoring the Company’s interests in VIEs and VOEs Various other ad hoc projects Qualifications Minimum 5-6 years of professional experience in an accounting policy role in financial services, banking or asset management or working in Big 4 transaction services of financial services firms.
