Job Summary:

Server Job Description for Moon Thai & Japanese Cuisine:

The position of Server is dedicated to exceeding expectations of guests to ensure the highest level of service is consistently provided. Teamwork is the key to success in providing a warm and personal experience.

The Servers role will be to provide excellent guest service.

The Server will ensure the proper set up of the station and work areas assigned and the smooth serving of food and beverage to all of his/her guests. At the end of the night, the Server will prepare the set up for the next meal period/next day. The Server will also offer support to all other colleagues in the restaurant, a team of professionals with a passion for food and beverage. Availability must include lunch time shifts, as well as weekends and nights.

Typical Physical/Mental Demands:

Requires mobility and prolonged standing. Bending and reaching to a height of eight feet high. Transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items.

Responsibilities and Duties:

(*includes but is not limited to the following)*:

• Become familiar with all menu items, wine, and spirits.
• Demonstrating genuine hospitality while greeting and establishing rapport with the guest and delivering an exceptional dining experience by:

-Guiding guests through menus while demonstrating thorough knowledge of the food, beverages and ingredients

-Taking accurate orders and partnering with team members to serve food and beverages that meet or exceed guest’s expectations

-Providing friendly and attentive service that makes guests feel well taken care of and builds their intent to return

• Enter order into computer system to request food preparation.
• Observe guests to respond if additional service is required.
• Prepare check and deliver to guests when finished.
• Clear, clean, reset, and maintain station during shift.
• Follow all proper cash, credit card, and room charge procedures.
• Follow all proper check control procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Performance Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities) :

Knowledge of the basic functions of food operations. Knowledge of all liquor laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages. Working knowledge of acceptable standards of sanitation and proper chemical usage. Ability to perform basic math skills. Ability to handle money and make correct change. Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff. Ability to read, write, and understand English. Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions. Comprehension of POS system

Requirements:

• 1+ years Server experience required
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
• Available to work flexible hours that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
• Meet store operating policies and standards of safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Engage with and understand our guests, including discovering and responding to guest needs through clear and pleasant communication
• Comply with a dress code
• Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
