This is a Contract position in Township 8, AR posted October 28, 2021.

Retirement Center Management has an opportunity for a full-time Cook at our Village on the Park Bentonville location an Independent Living, Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community.The Cook prepares, produces, heats, cooks, bakes and serves a variety of foods from fresh, canned, dry, or frozen states according to recipes. Assists in other related tasks in a designated food service production and/or service area. Must desire to work with seniors and have a tolerance for behaviors associated with dementia and other aging processes.Full Time:Tuesday-SaturdayWednesday-Sunday6:15 a.M.-2:00 p.M.Must be available weekends and holidays$300 Sign On Bonus | $175 after 30 days and $175 after 90 daysESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrepares or assists in preparation of complete meals preparing and cooking soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, baked goods, etc.Complies with all special dietary needs or restrictions of residents.Monitor all food items for compliance with guidelines for temperature, taste and quality. Tastes food to determine quality.Cook food in various utensils or grillers.Check food while cooking to stir or turnTastes food to determine quality and palatability.Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are servedKeep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen; ensuring all equipment is cleaned, working properly and turned off before closing.Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.Check quality of ingredients.Monitor stock and, upon approval of direct supervisor, place orders when there are shortages.Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines including governmental and company policies for food handling and proper documentation of compliance.Assists with orientation and training of new kitchen staffMaintain or exceed standards of appearance, cleanliness and personal hygiene.Attend all inservices as required.Member of the community’s emergency response team.Maintains a professional appearance and good personal hygiene per company policies.Other responsibilities as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or GED, training from a culinary school will be an asset.Must be or become within 60 days an accredited food handler per State guidelines.Six months to one year proven experience as cookExperience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakewareKnowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)Ability to follow all sanitation proceduresAbility to work in a teamEffective oral and written communication skillsExcellent physical condition and staminaRetirement Center Management considers the health and safety of its residents, family members, and team members as its highest priorities.
