Part Time Cook
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Prepare and cook meals following Nutrition Guidelines. Order food and kitchen supplies, staying within budget. Maintain a clean and
orderly kitchen and ensure all appliances are in working order.
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Menu planning following nutritional guidelines established by program
Prepare and serve quality meals with minimal waste or spoilage
Responsible for ordering supplies, keeping records CACFP
Responsible for 100% for quality of products served
Ensure food preparation and serving areas are in compliance with
sanitary food-handling practices
Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen at all times.
Stores and labels all products properly and in accordance to
applicable city and state laws.
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for
improvement.
Apply safety standards
Assist in the delivery of food
Submit timely orders
Maintain a budget
EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED:
Food Handlers Certification
HS Diploma
Ability to read and write and follow oral or written
instructions.
Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members
Course in food handling
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
12-18 months experience as a cook
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and carry up to 40 pounds
Be able to work in a standing position for periods of time
