Unit Description As chefs, we have the power to influence lives through the power of food.
Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for a Government Services account in New London, CT.
The Executive Chef will be responsible for inventory, ordering, menu planning, budget management, and oversight of production/back of house operations.
The food service provided is family style/buffet and some catering.
We feed approximately 1,000 customers per meal.
The successful candidate will: be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting; ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented; have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations; ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

We are looking for candidates who have: two-year degree in hotel/restaurant management or related field from an accredited college or university; and five (5) years experience in managing collegiate Food Service Programs of comparable size and complexity; and at least one (1) of the five (5) years shall have been served as Chef Manager or equivalent.
a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends; excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards; strong coaching and employee development skills; and/or have a passion for food and innovation.

Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.

Qualifications & Requirements Basic Education Requirement
– Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience Basic Management Experience
– 2 years Basic Functional Experience
