The Dietary Aide / Cook is responsible for providing assistance in all dietary functions as directed by the Dietary Supervisor and in accordance with established policies and procedures, applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service is provided at all times.
Dietary Aide / Cook Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares and/or pre-portions food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu for meals and snacks as directed.
Uses proper food handling and food safety techniques in accordance with established policies and regulations.
Utilizes standardized recipes whenever foods are prepared for regular and therapeutic diets.
Ensures the proper quantity of food is prepared and/or pre-portioned as directed and in a timely manner in accordance with established schedule.
Maintains the proper temperature of food during preparation and service.
Records temperatures of food in accordance with established policy.
Ensures department is maintained in a clean manner.
Completes all work assignments with scheduled time frames.
