Who are we?
Do you enjoy cooking? Are you good with food? Do people tell you that you are meant to lead? If the answer is yes, then Skamania Lodge would like to hear from you! This position is responsible for oversight of the kitchen staff who prepare, cook, and garnish meals for hotel guests and patrons. The Cook Lead will provide leadership and guidance to the shift staff and will work on the hot or cold line as needed. With focus on quality and production levels, this position will assist the culinary team with their mission to exceed customers’ expectations related to food quality and dining experience.
What you will have an opportunity to do:
- Leads by example and masters both the hot and cold food item production
- Inspects presentation quality and expedites the line as needed
- Must be able to read recipes and follow measurement instructions accurately
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all team members
- Consistently practice safe and sanitary food handling techniques
- Maintain workstation and equipment safety and cleanliness
- Apply basic knife skills required for preparation of hot and cold foods
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, food products, and food service equipment
Qualifications: Education, Knowledge, Training & Work Experience
- Two years experience in heavy volume food production
- Previous supervisory skills required
- High school diploma or equivalent experience/training
- Must have current Washington Food Worker Card
- Ability to operate kitchen power equipment
- Ability to utilize cutting instruments
- Ability to transport, handle and/or lift 40 lbs. (NOTE: kitchen equipment and food and non-food items)
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language
- Ability to work any assigned shift/work schedule
- Additional duties assigned by Management
