Position Summary: Manage the kitchen at a childcare Center which includes planning, preparing, serving and recording Daily meals at a childcare Center
Schedule: Part-Time
Essential Job Functions (fundamental cook responsibilities): Handle the responsibilities of cooking and keeping a kitchen Understand and do the math required for figuring quantity of food to prepare Follow guidelines of USDA Federal Food Program Keep records accurate and up to date Plan meals according to Kama‘aina Kids/HCC Standard Menu and USDA guidelines Prepare meals See that meals are served on time Determine necessary foods to be ordered from the Main Office or appropriate supplier when authorized Attend food service workshops as directed Secondary Job Functions (tasks that can be delegated): Call in orders to Main Office and vendors Shop for fresh foods and store them properly Handle a Petty Cash Account; be accountable for all money issued for food purchases Prepare and post menus for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack Set up and serve meals Wash and sterilize dishes, pots, glasses, and utensils after use Scrub counters and kitchen tables after use (may also be responsible for cleaning the dining area after a serving) Keep kitchen floor clean by picking up dropped food and wiping up spills Clean refrigerators and stove at least weekly Clean fan, freezers, and storage areas at least every other month or as needed #CB
