Cook – Dude Ranch

One of the best parts of any vacation is the food and dining experience. A well-known Montana dude ranch has an opening for an experienced cook. We are looking for someone who will share their culinary knowledge, experience, and passion with our guests and staff. We offer a menu that includes homestyle Montana meals and hearty ranch fare, served family style. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner, a cattle drive, or an outdoor bbq, our guests never leave hungry or unsatisfied. Must love to cook!

You will be responsible for:

• Day to day safety, organization, and cleanliness of the kitchen, food storage areas, food preparation areas, and kitchen equipment
• Planning menus and meals according to production schedules and staff requirements.
• Training and coaching other staff members in the kitchen.
• With the assistance of other staff, preparing all meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, special events.
• Ensuring meals are prepared and ready in a timely manner.
• Ensuring food safety guidelines are followed at all times.
• Meals are served family style, successful candidate needs to be able to cook/plan for large groups. May – October is typically 40 – 70 per day, November – April is 10 – 20 per day.
• Ordering necessary food and supplies.
• Communicating professionally and regularly with the head housekeeper, Ranch Manager, vendors, and guests.
• Cook! Cook! Cook! Whether you are preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, a sack lunch, or a banquet – everything must be appealing to the eye and the palate!

Requirements:

• Current ServSafe Certification
• Ability to cook for any meal of the day
• Ordering and menu planning
• Ability to manage and train others
• Experience cooking for large groups
• 3+ years experience commercial cooking
• Valid Montana Drivers License
• Ability to work various shifts and days of the week, including some weekends

Wage is $14 + DOE. Company offers great benefits including meals and bonuses.
