Review and adjust menus with supervisor to accommodate foods in season, vendor sale prices, special events, and holidays.Identify food and supplies needed for the next week’s menus and report to the supervisor.Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment.Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of food for infection control.Prepare meats for storage and portion control upon delivery. Ensure proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients.Maintain a written inventory of dry goods, refrigerated and frozen foods, non-food supplies, dishes, and utensils.Notify manager of malfunctioning equipment or appliances.Ensure compliance with all state, local, and federal regulations.Other duties as assignedQualifications:Experience with commercial cooking or domestic cooking with large groups preferred.High school diploma or GED, requiredSupervisory experience preferredDemonstrated experience planning, working, and preparing food daily, from the weekly menu planStrong organizational skillsCapable of reading, speaking, and understanding the English languageMust be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassistedEducation, Experience, and Other RequirementsHigh school diploma or GEDExperience with commercial cooking or domestic cooking with large groupsCOVID-19 vaccine or willingness to obtain vaccine required, reasonable accommodations will be consideredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequiredPractice safety in working with and around kitchen equipment.Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.State food-handling and kitchen regulationsOperation of kitchen appliances (dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine, blender, food processor, meat slicer, mixer, etc.) and office equipment (photocopier, telephone)Preferred QualificationsCertificate in food-preparation training is preferredExperience in supervision is preferred.Willingness to learn and help othersEnjoyment in working with older adults#IND#zr
