Job Description* Consistently demonstrates outstanding guest service skills and always acknowledges guests, preferably by name.* Ensures beer, soda, liquor, glassware and paper products are appropriately stocked in the beginning and end of each shift; as well as when leaving for scheduled breaks.* Effectively makes cocktails according to PPC and/or guest specifications. Offers drinks suggestions/recommendations to guests when appropriate.* Consistently keeps bar area clean. Cleans top of bar and polishes stainless steel on a regular basis. Properly washes all bar dishes used during assigned shift, and leaves area clean before going on break and prior to shift end.* Always maintains department’s safety/sanitation standards.* Maintains a working knowledge of locations of all required items. Utilizes “Back-Bar Checklist” to ensure all necessary items are present and accounted for. Retrieves required items as needed.* Always attends pre-shift meetings to ensure knowledge of all necessary information regarding promotions, events, or any other pertinent information. Consistently maintains an awareness of promotional events and shows.* Ensures that all drinks are entered into the MICROS POS System immediately upon making the cocktail. Transactions must be precise and accurate.* Always uses FLAG protocol when serving alcoholic beverages to guests under the age of 35.* Consistently adheres to all PPC policies and NYSLA Laws.* Accurately identifies signs of intoxication and stops service to guest in an appropriate manner.* Must be in full uniform and ready to take care of both Guests and Servers at assigned station.* Ensures Espresso machine is operational and glassware and product is fully stocked (espresso beans, brown sugar cubes, cinnamon, and all necessary bar ware).* Always sorts and separates recyclable and deposit bottles. Places all recyclable items in proper crates.* Always immediately notifies Supervisor of any guest service concerns, broken equipment or problems with the bar areas or storage rooms.* Always follows department training standards. (i.e.: clean-as-you-go, re-check guest, etc.). Completes assigned side work.* Creates a positive experience during the guests bar visit to ensure repeat business.Job Requirements* Must be able to speak English.* Must possess the ability to count money and make correct change.* Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills.* Must have the ability to ring in orders and settle checks on Point of Sale system.* Previous alcohol beverage service preferred. Knowledge of liquor service standards, compliance laws, and responsible service techniques a plus.* Must be able to complete and be well versed in alcohol service training. Must maintain working knowledge of acceptable forms of identification. Demonstrates the ability to identify altered or false identification.
