Elk River Machine Company is seeking a Welding Lead for our 2nd Shift. Pay: $27.00 – $40.00 per hour Hourly Shift Premium of $2.00 per hour for 2nd Shift Benefits: Medical, Dental & Vision for employee & family including domestic partners 401k Tuition Reimbursement PTO accrual starts immediately Yearly shoe allowance Referral Program Summary : Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in fabrication and welding of sheet metal products by performing the following duties. Job Duties & Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required. Requisitions dies, fixtures, and material. Examines defective machinery to determine cause of malfunction and reports need for machine repairs. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintains time and production records. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Performs activities of workers supervised. Supervisory Responsibilities : Directly supervises 15-20 employees in the Welding department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees planning, assigning, and directing work appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and Experience: High school education or equivalent required. 5 years of supervision 10 years of welding experience. About Elk River Machine Company: We have tackled the complex, custom metal fabrication that other companies won’t touch, as well as large contract volume metal manufacturing. Our manufacturing space is located in Elk River, Minnesota. We can perform virtually all metal, steel fabrication, machining, cladding, welding, finished processes, and assembly processes on site.
