VP Strategy & Corporate Development

The Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development role is responsible for leading Company’s strategic function, including defining the strategic priorities and initiatives to accelerate the company’s growth as well as supporting each of the business’ highest growth priorities.

This individual will serve as a thought partner for senior executives across the organization and work with colleagues to spearhead new strategies to increase revenue.   This position will be responsible for revenue enhancement, strategy, business development and corporate development.   The ideal candidate has led new corporate development, spearheading new paths to revenue.  This position is remote and may be based anywhere in the U.S.

Primary Job Duties Include (but are not limited to)

  • Creating revenue enhancement strategies
  • Driving ancillary product cross-selling
  • Strategizing on new types of “graduation” payment products
  • Identifying new sources of revenue through business development
  • Identifying platform enhancements with co-marketing opportunities 
  • Strategizing on retail, lending and other market trends and updates 
  • Enforcing the frequency of dialogue for new strategy opportunities 
  • Analyzing  adjacencies including total addressable market, ability to win, competitors, headwinds
  • Continuous follow up and accountability for corporate development
  • Tie strategy to outputs to analyze possible targets
  • Analyze build vs. partner vs. acquire opportunities 
  • Develop deal rationales and financial analysis 
  • Establish banker relationships and meeting cadence
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree required – candidates with an MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the software and/or consumer payment tech industry in a corporate development / strategy leadership role
  • Prior corporate development experience
  • Experience incubating new business.
  • Experience leading, identifying and analyzing new corporate opportunities
  • A track record of spearheading new initiatives
  • Strong sense of urgency for goal and professional achievement
  • Ability to quickly understand complex issues and develop/apply simplifying frameworks to facilitate broader organizational understanding, decision-making and action
  • Proficient at leveraging analytics, data, financial models and insights to drive decision-making
  • Outcome oriented with very strong ability to personally create high quality, customer-facing presentations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
