VP of Business Development (Web Agency)

Insomniac Design, Inc.

This is a Full-time position in Tampa, FL posted January 2, 2022.

Insomniac Design is a global digital agency headquartered in Washington D.C., with offices in London, Bucharest and Chisinau.

We specialize in human-centered design with deep focus on design thinking and digital transformation.

The VP of Business Development is responsible for growing revenue, attention, and lines of business for our suite of clients.

This person will create new business opportunities, lead and support efforts to close deals, as well as build connections in our community and industry.

The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive business development experience, with an established and growing network of connections in mid-to-large size companies that are relevant to our work, industry, and company vision of human-centered design and digital transformation.

Example new clients may include Fortune 500, commercial & consumer brands, and companies leading innovation in their industry.

This person will act as the bridge between business development and successful client experience.

Once new opportunities and leads are identified, you will lead pitches alongside Insomniac’s key stakeholders, and work closely with new or potential clients — all in an effort to drive revenue, innovation and growth.

The Director of New Business will also grow Insomniac’s clout and presence within the industry, and aim to gain the attention and respect of aspirational brands and new clients.

In addition to a network of established relationships, the ideal candidate will leverage organic outreach and paid marketing tactics (e.g.

— email marketing, web content, social media, display ads, PR & media outreach, etc.) to gain exposure for our work and company.

Responsibilities

  • Connections: This person will leverage and develop his/her existing relationships to grow our client base and create new opportunities.
  • Leadership: Marketing, Digital & Tech Industry thought leadership that offers novel, researched insight into relevant topics in emerging technology, business transformation, and industry trends.

    This person will use savvy content strategy, client work and case studies to leverage and develop relationships, gain agency exposure, awards & marketing, and speaking opportunities.

  • Lead Generation & Marketing: Lead and manage internal marketing efforts for Insomniac Design, like quarterly marketing emails, social media channels, and website management support.

Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years experience in business development with digital agency experience background preferred.
  • Extensive relevant network and existing pipeline is a must.
  • Proven success growing new client business and revenue in the areas of web and mobile product strategy, design, and development.
  • Experience responding to RFPs, navigating procurement processes, and closing new business.
  • Ability to lead new client responses, pitches and presentations.
  • History of delivering customer success and overall client satisfaction.
  • Background in content marketing, strategy and management across multiple channels a plus.
