VP Actuary, Cyber

This VP Actuary position will focus on advising clients on cyber risk quantification and profitable growth strategies.

You will be part of the GC Analytics Actuarial team, working with brokers, clients and other GC Analytics colleagues to deliver actuarial services and financial modeling to help assess loss exposure and the financial impact of risk mitigation strategies.

You will evaluate loss expectations and pricing of different reinsurance programs and the financial impact of those programs.

Additionally, you will support capital modeling, portfolio management, and other analytical services as requested by clients.

Your work will also include supporting company-wide initiatives to modernize our tool suite, products and analytical skill set.

We’ll count on you to :

Check client data for reasonability, perform standard actuarial analyses (ground-up loss ratio, experience and exposure rating) and evaluate output in support of reinsurance transactions

Prepare client data in model-specific format and make necessary assumptions to perform cyber portfolio risk modeling analyses using GC proprietary models and third-party cyber vendor models

Build MetaRisk reinsurance optimization analyses with minimal supervision, analyze cost / benefit tradeoff under various proposed reinsurance alternatives

Communicate directly with brokers and senior team members on client’s needs and advise on reinsurance programs based on risk tolerance level and industry trends

Prepare intuitive, clear and concise exhibits based on modeled results, create deliverables that focus on client-valued insights using advanced data visualization tools

Participate in client and prospect presentations, build long-term trusted advisor relationship with key clients

Develop in-depth knowledge in their-party cyber vendor models

Work with team to build, modify and automate GC proprietary cyber models and processes to refine GC’s view of cyber risk and to improve workflow efficiency

What you need to have:

Bachelor’s degree preferably in Actuarial Science, Business, Economics, Mathematics or related field

7+ years of P&C insurance experience

ACAS or FCAS designation

Excellent verbal and written skills for complex communications with clients, markets and GC colleagues at all levels of the organization

Strong project management and problem solving skills, able to independently prioritize workload according to volume, urgency etc.

High proficiency in Microsoft office products, e.g.

Excel, PowerPoint, Word

What will make you stand out:

Coding experience in utilizing programming languages, e.g.

R, Python, VBA or SQL

Familiarity with data analytics and visualization software, e.g.

Power BI, R Shiny or Tableau
