JOB TITLE: Usher DEPARTMENT: Security LOCATION: Varies SALARY RANGE: $10.00 –
– 12.00 REPORTS TO: SecurityManager and/or Manager on Duty POSITION: Part-Time Hourly DEFINITION: This position assists patrons with information and guidance within any SMG facility.
TASKS: * Dresses appropriately–wears clean black slacks, white long-sleeved shirt and black closed-toe shoes.
Will be issued a vest appropriate to assignment.
* Visually checks for prohibited items that have passed through the ticket gate area and/or by security.
* Reports to Security Guard any incidents or guests attempting to enter the facility without proper credentials or tickets.
* Provides guests with general directions to their ticketed seat and relates information as necessary.
* Attends pre-event briefings and becomes familiar with event-day information.
* Greets each guest with a friendly.
* Monitors and reports suspicious activity occurring within the facility during an assigned shift, including activities of personnel.
May be required to produce written, detailed incident reports.
* Has knowledge of building procedures in regards to evacuation, medical/fire and crowd control emergencies.
* Provides each and every guest with the very best service possible.
Listens to guest issues or requests for assistance.
Calls for assistance from Manager on Duty or assigned supervisor to address guest complaints/concerns.
* Checks in and checks out all keys, radios, flashlights, and equipment needed as required.
* Understands the facility “No re-entry” policy for ticketed events.
Calls for assistance, if needed, if a guest attempts to re-enter.
* Directs guest to his or her proper seat location.
Ensures that all guests have tickets for that section on that date.
Keeps guests moving at all times.
Keeps guests from standing in aisles or congregating in unauthorized areas.
* Monitors assigned area and reports potential problems immediately (spills, contraband, etc.).
Always keeps an eye out for spills.
Immediately call for assistance once the above are observed.
* Attempts to seat guests as quickly as possible.
* Ensures that area of responsibility is clean and presentable prior to door opening and maintained throughout the event.
Reports problems as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * Must be 18 years of age of older * Ability to perform tasks without close supervision * Ability to communicate effectively with the general public, orally and in writing * Ability to understand oral and written instruction The above can be met by a combination of education and training or experience.
