Unclaimed Property Analyst

Unclaimed Property Analyst New York, NYnn nnThe Unclaimed Property Analyst will update dormant accounts based on the receipt of the first class and certified letters mailed to the owners of accounts that are flagged dormant.

The analyst will also review inactive and dormant accounts activated in the branches to ensure transaction propriety.

Customer outreach may also be necessary to ensure that all attempts have been made to contact the owners of dormant accounts before their property is scheduled to escheat to the state(s).nn nn Essential Duties & Responsibilities nn Update customer dormant dates in the core system upon receipt of letters from customer acknowledging their accounts(s).

Monitor, review and research updates to customer inactive and dormant dates in the core system processed outside of Depositor Services and obtain supporting documentation.

Assist branches and the CustomerLine Department with customer inquiries.

Ensure that all inactive and dormant account research has been documented.

Validate advertising published in local newspaper to source files submitted to the news agency.

Process dormant account fees and advertising fees to affected accounts.

Assist in the proof and reconciliation of funds escheated to the various states.

Responsible for the collection and maintenance of mailing reporting metrics.

Responsible for scanning all documents to the appropriate drive in the departments shared drive.

Assist with any other Depositor Services initiatives as deemed necessary by the Unclaimed Property Supervisor.

nn Skills, Education & Experience nn Preferably 1-3 years of experience processing transactions in an unclaimed property environment.

Experience in unclaimed property research and processing.

Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Ability to investigate apparent errors or anomalies relating to inactive and dormant reports and/or transactions.

A highly motivated individual willing to work in a fast-paced environment and possessing an ability to work on several priorities at a given time.

Strong analytical, problem solving skills.

Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
