Ultrasound Technologist, 66-3P

This is a Full-time position in Salem, OR posted July 30, 2021.

Hours: Part-time, W, Th, F & Sa,
Location: Main/Capitol Street
Department: Imaging/Ultrasound

Job Summary/Position Objective:
Performs ultrasound procedures at a technical and professional level not requiring constant supervision and direction. Performs a variety of technical procedures with competence, commitment and initiative.

Essential Functions:

  1. Prioritize patient care and service above all other duties.
  2. Assist patients with transportation needs when necessary.
  3. Must support safety in the work environment.
  4. Assure image quality before patient leaves the department.
  5. Practice Universal Precautions.
  6. Notify department director/manager of any accident or incident to any persons or equipment.
  7. Maintain work area in clean, organized and well-stocked condition.
  8. Assist film library.

Modality Specific Functions:

  1. Produce high quality diagnostic studies as measured by feedback from consulting Radiologists and follow established scan protocols.
  2. Be able to give and receive constructive feedback with peers about exam quality to support an atmosphere of learning and cohesiveness without a direct lead ultrasound technologist.
  3. Accept delegated tasks from leadership

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

  1. Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  2. Current licensure by the State of Oregon in required modalities.
  3. Certification in CPR / AED.
  4. High school Diploma or equivalent.
  5. Working knowledge of Medical terminology, computers and typing experience.
  6. Detail oriented and effective organizational skills.
  7. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff, providers and the public.
  8. Must be able to occasionally accommodate flexible hours and shifts pending department needs.
  9. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making.

10.  Ability to work in a fast paced environment, while keeping close attention to accuracy with minimal supervision.

11.  Ability to work independently and as a team participant.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  1. Current licensure by the State of Oregon in required modalities.
  2. Certification in CPR/AED.
  3. High school diploma or equivalent.
  4. Working knowledge of medical terminology, computers and typing experience.
  5. Detail oriented and effective organizational skills.
  6. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff, providers and public.
  7. Must be able to occasionally accommodate flexible hours and shifts pending department needs.
