The Training and Performance Improvement Coordinator supports the oversight of the agency’s Training efforts and assists the Director of Compliance and Quality with Risk Management, Programmatic Compliance, Quality, and Safety initiatives and activities.
The essential functions and duties for this position will be done in collaboration with and/or under the supervision of the Director of Compliance and Quality Improvement, and with the Vice President of Talent overseeing some training responsibilities.
This position supports all programs of the Italian Home for Children and requires an understanding of the variety and scope of services provided across the agency, as well as objectivity and commitment to supporting and encouraging high quality service delivery.
The Training and Performance Improvement Coordinator will work with the Director of Compliance and Quality to review and evaluate quality controls agency wide.
Through data analysis and observation, the Training and Performance Improvement Coordinator will support the agency in achieving service excellence.
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the duties and responsibilities that will be required of the position, but additional responsibilities may be required.

Essential Functions
Training:
Maintain, update and manage the agency’s training calendar
Oversee, develop, update training master tracking document to ensure employees are receiving and are current in all required trainings
Use payroll/HRIS system to develop and track trainings, develop virtual and automated trainings
Develop training materials and facilitate trainings for employees across all programs and departments and with various levels of experience
Present Agency policy and procedures during New Hire Orientation and at staff, team and other meetings
Lead and facilitate new hire and refresher trainings in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and CPR/First Aid
Monitor and update training requirements, identify training needs, lead and facilitate trainings
Document and update training requirements for each Program
Internal Investigations:
Conduct internal investigations, to include review of video footage, interview involved employees and witnesses, and document and share findings with appropriate parties
Follow related policies and procedures for conducting internal investigations
Risk Management:
Work with the Director of Compliance and Quality to implement, monitor, and update agency Risk Management Plan
Analyze data in designated areas of risk, including, but not limited to medication occurrences, restraint data, serious incidents, and vehicle accidents
Identify areas of need to mitigate risk to the agency
Compliance:
Lead and Support the Compliance Team with licensing and accreditation activities
Assist with monitoring follow-up to any compliance or conformance concerns
Assist with periodic review of Programs’ compliance with external regulatory bodies
Knowledge and understanding of regulatory bodies regulations and requirements
Quality and Safety:
Work with Director of Compliance and Quality to conduct Focused Program Reviews of all programs
Assist with the development and execution of observation systems and quality measurements for all programs
Assist with evaluation of programs including periodic safety and quality reviews
Conduct program time studies to gather data and evaluate functioning and services
Work with programs on implementation of programmatic quality improvement plans and outcome measures
Provide reporting on observation data gathered with recommended action plans for areas needing improvement
Assist in the development and implementation of programmatic quality controls
Assist with regular review and updating of policies and procedures
Essential Qualifications
Commitment to ensuring the highest quality of all programs and services
Skilled at presenting to groups, teaching and motivating
Undergraduate degree in Human Services/Social Services or Clinical Studies
Minimum of 3 years’ experience and working knowledge of residential, educational and community-based programming
Prior experience developing training materials
Flexible, able to shift focus quickly to pressing issues while maintaining and managing regular and ongoing projects and assignments
Strong ability to collect and analyze data to make informed recommendations
Critical thinker able to effectively identify and evaluate problems, display sound judgment in resolving problems
Maintain strictest confidentiality regarding clients, and employees; adhere to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations
Strong ability to accept and give critical feedback
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Strength in managing multiple priorities simultaneously and adhering to deadlines
Skilled in working independently to carry out department and agency objectives
Skilled in working collaboratively with multiple departments and varying levels of position; superior interpersonal skills
Medication Administration Program (MAP) certified or become certified within six months of employment
Current certification or attain certification to train Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and CPR/1st Aid
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
