Test Equipment Design Engineer: Wilmington, MA or Hunt Valley, MD Job Scope: Test Equipment Design Engineer responsibilities include developing, upgrading and maintaining custom hardware and software test stations used on client’s production programs. These systems use a variety of rack mount instruments, environmental chambers and control systems to accomplish subsystem and system level functional test of military electro-mechanical products. Primary responsibilities include: -Design, develop, document, and prove-in new automated acceptance test equipment required for new and existing electronic products and assist with transition of this equipment to Production Test Engineering.
– Develop functional test stations utilizing state-of-the-art IEEE-488, VXI & LXI Instrumentation in a context of automated parametric measurements, while maintaining a modular, flexible and scalable design approach. – Experienced with Agilent VEE (preferred), LabView or LabWindows CVI. – Perform test development activity in accordance with customer specifications and requirements. – Able to interface with product development teams to determine appropriate test strategy and coverage for functional requirements.
– Ability to lead a small group of test equipment design engineers.
– Ability to lead the conduct and documentation of trade analyses.
– Ability to manage resources and financial cost accounts efficiently, focusing on ever-shifting priorities, continually seeks ways to improve individual/team efficiency.
– Write process, test and calibration procedures and reports.
– Provide technical support to others across the organization. Qualifications: -B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a 5-10 years’ experience developing instrument driven test equipment.
– M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 3-8 years’ experience.
– Experience with environmental stress screening methodologies, boundary scan and BIST are a plus.
– Computer programming experience with Agilent VEE and LabView. – Must also be proficient in MS Office.
