Test Engineer – Chassis Durability II

Responsibilities: Position Summary: This role will support chassis durability test engineer development activities.Essential Duties: (This list is not exhaustive and other duties may be assigned)Lead and support the engineering test activities by applying engineering principles, experiences and various analysis tools in following established test plans/procedures to test parts/components in area of specialty to determine design feasibility and ensure parts/components meet design acceptance criteria, performance level targets and any applicable regulatory/internal standards.

Utilize data acquisition tools to collect data, analyze and report results.Conduct vehicle benchmarking for the purpose of target setting.

Analyze and resolve problems with moderate level of guidance and direction.Negotiate with other departments internally and suppliers externally to meet the spec requirements.

Coordinate with design and CAE teams to report results and develop countermeasures.Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology.Travel to client / test sites required.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering and 2-7 yrs relevant industry experience.

Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.

Minimum 2yrs experience using Data Acquisition tools.

Test track / driving experience required for test driving.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in MS office.Preferred Skills:Formula SAE (FSAE), BAJA SAE, EcoCar, Mini BAJA SAE, experienceHands on experience with wrenching and vehicle instrumentationPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
