As a **Technical Editor** , you will be trusted to coordinate and edit technical writing projects and prepare meeting materials, including minutes. In this role, a typical day will include:+ Prepare, compile, review/edit, and distribute quality and Section 508 compliant (where required) development documentation such as deliverables, manuals, specifications, briefings, information papers, technical reports, and other correspondence as requested+ Participate in meetings and prepare meeting materials including minutes+ Review and edit correspondence for changes in spelling, grammar, punctuation, word usage and correct format style for the intended audience, ensuring adherence to established standards and guidelines+ Format and structure documents and prepare tables and charts.+ Collect and combine technical information from multiple sources and compile it into a single coherent flowing document+ Manage and track numerous, diverse, simultaneous efforts and have the ability to effectively prioritize requirements for multiple on-going projects in support of a large project team+ Maintain best practice knowledge of customer and corporate style guides, templates, and industry standards for writing and design of documents**WHAT YOU’LL NEED:**+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline or equivalent experience+ 5+ years of experience creating, proofreading, and editing documentation such as meeting minutes, user guides, technical guides, templates, meeting slides, training materials, etc.+ Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications+ Experience maintaining document configuration using tools such as SharePoint and/or Confluence+ Experience converting technical knowledge into easily understood terms+ Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance and must have lived in the United States**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**+ US citizen or a Green Card holder+ Healthcare Service or Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) agency experience+ Experience with Section 508 compliance+ Hands-on experience documenting information technology software, systems, and web-based applications+ Experience working in an Agile environment+ Experience developing and managing technical documentation review processes+ Communicate exceptionally with personnel at varying levels using effective interpersonal and communication skills+ Ability to work well as part of a team and as an individual contributor+ Superior writing skills and meticulous attention to detail**WHAT GDIT CAN OFFER YOU:**+ Full-flex work week+ 401K with company match+ Customizable health benefits packages+ Collaborative teams of highly motivated critical thinkers and innovators+ Rewards program for high-performing employeesCOVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: To protect the health and safety of its employees and to comply with customer requirements, GDIT may require employees in certain positions to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
