Information & Cyber Security (ICS) is a part of Wells Fargo Technology. ICS is responsible for protecting the company from cyber threats, engaging with Wells Fargo businesses, assessing information security risk, providing identity services, performing security engineering, and operating the ICS function.

The Position

The Technical Business Services Principal Associate will work with accountable leaders and teams across ICS and Wells Fargo Technology to drive the identification, prioritization, management, and timely closure and sustainment of self-identified issues, audit issues, corrective actions, and other high-priority commitments within ICS. This individual contributor will have significant influence and personal accountability for ensuring line of defense engagements (audits, exams, assessments, etc.) are executed timely and effectively within ICS as well as being responsible for the functions of ICS issue intake and closure.
 
Responsibilities

  • Define plans, develop and implement/consult on major IT strategies, processes, or on-going programs
  • Serve as focal point for ICS as issues and/or findings are identified or submitted; determine appropriate ownership and prioritization.  
  • Influence the development of corrective actions to ensure appropriate scope and timelines against other priorities. 
  • Work with accountable leaders and teams across ICS, ensuring issues and commitments are executed on and closed timely and effectively, and are properly coordinated and aligned within ICS. 
  • Establish, implement and manage consistent structure, processes, metrics & reporting, and management routines within ICS for issues management
  • Recommend compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and works with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Interface with internal audit, independent risk management and regulators; Manage responses to ensure appropriate scope (e.g. assessments, points of view, exams)

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technology experience
  • 5+ years of strategic planning and development experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • 5+ years of risk management and mitigation experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing large technology development efforts within a major line of business
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • 5+ years of banking industry experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and influence change
  • Quantitative or qualitative data analysis experience

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical, information protection issues and value/impact in simple terms to very senior business and technology leaders.
  • A high level of comfort working with ambiguity or uncertainty and converting information into quantifiable concepts
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to manage numerous, competing demands from internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate and broker agreements amongst diverse, differing, competing, and/or conflicting perspectives/priorities

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
