• You are eager to receive coaching to become the teacher your students deserve. WHAT YOU WILL DO1. Complete pre-summer preparation and a week of in-person training to get ready to teach on day 1.2. Teach elementary
– (Boston or Cumberland, RI) or middle-school students (Boston, Denver, Holyoke, Providence, Worcester) engineering, law, math, or reading for 5 weeks.
Design and lead an elective and special event.3. Receive daily feedback and collaborate with your colleagues.WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE1. You will receive $3,600 ($2,257.14 cash scholarship and $1,342.86 AmeriCorps Education Award).
The Education Award can be used for tuition, loans, books, housing, or other approved educational expenses.2. You will receive individual career counseling during your senior year of college and personal introductions to partners if you are interested in teaching professionally.3. Your college may provide work study funding or course credit for your fellowship.
If accepted, please discuss this option with your city director.4.
