Job Overview

Mechatronics Engineering combines mechanical engineering, controls engineering, software design, electronic hardware, sensors and electrical harnesses.
As our vehicles grow in capability, especially in the areas of Connectivity, eMobility, Automated technology, Fuel Efficiency and Safety, our team is critical to the successful integration of an increasingly complex and secure vehicle network.
The HiL (Hardware in the loop) is a lab environment where all vehicle ECUs are connected similar to on a vehicle and then integration tested.
We are responsible for supporting Mechatronics Engineering in the overall ECU and Feature system integration for Freightliner and Western Star Brands.
As an advanced HiL Integration Engineer, you will bring your specialized knowledge and experience to lead the testing; programing and implementation of progressive engineering solutions for automotive technologies (specifically class 8 commercial vehicles).
This will include (but not be limited to) programming tools such as PROVEtech, CAN Vector, Diagnostic Link, and Matlab/Simulink.
In addition, you will bring your specialized experience in developing HiL Test cases, including testing methodologies, best practices, and overall embedded hardware and software verification and validation techniques.
You will also have proven experience leading and developing remote teams in process flow and overall HiL testing processes.
In addition, this position will require component and software system troubleshooting, as well as project management skills.
Responsibilities
Create and script test cases for HiL feature requirements in PROVEtech
Lead a remote technical team in the process of creating and scripting test cases
Support ECU engineers & Suppliers in working through defects, implementation challenges, and validation topics
Organize, monitor, and support test performance, and compile reports on pass/fail for stakeholders
Assist in overall HiL functionality and testability
Support team in preparation for test sprints
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
BS required (Electrical, Software, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science or related) OR 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree required
Specialized and experienced Hardware in the Loop (HiL) Engineer dedicated to the testing, programing and implementation of progressive engineering solutions for automotive technology required
Strong organizational and time management skills proven by the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines required
Experience in full integration of test process with validation for full vehicle HiL at commercial class 8 company required
Strong verbal and written communication skills proven by the ability to work in group of personnel from different backgrounds and languages required
Organize, monitor, support, test performance and track issues to compile reports for stakeholders required
Overall tool expertise in MS Office, Visual Basic, C++, Windows OS required
Specialized and experienced in developing efficient HiL Test cases.
Testing methodologies and techniques (MCDC, state/flow diagrams) required
Experience with embedding hardware & software verification and validation required
HiL hardware expertise dSPACE (PHS, SCALEXIO), CAN bus, LIN bus required
PROVEtech:TA expertise (Winwrap Scripting, FIU, Diagnostics, macros, signal measurement/tracing), Possibility to teach others how to use PROVEtech:TA required

Master’s degree preferred
5-7 years of relevant experience preferred
Experience in leading remote team work flow and testing process preferred
