Valley Wide Cooperative
The position of System Administrator I is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. A person in this position will be responsible for the overall integrity of the network, server management and deployment, security, and ensuring network connectivity throughout the companys WAN/LAN infrastructure. A person in this position is responsible for maintaining confidentiality in matters relating to customers and employees of Valley Wide Cooperative.
These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently.
Installs, supports, and maintains servers, virtualization, routers, switches, firewalls, and SAN infrastructure.
Analyzes equipment performance records and identifies potential issues with systems.
Plans for responding to service outages and other infrastructure related problems.
Assists in the management, support and monitoring of websites and digital apps.
Installs new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves software related problems.
Assists in the planning, design, documentation, implementation and support of various systems to include PCs, servers, network equipment, and software applications.
Manages and performs system backups, data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
Manages overall system security, including adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, and other security related duties.
Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
Performs on-site and remote technical support.
After hours support on a rotational basis.
Create and maintain good technical documentation to support technology in the business.
Lead and participate on projects as assigned.
Assists Service Desk with providing application and end user support as needed, reviewing and resolving issues.
Assist business units with reporting and data manipulation as required.
Required to stay current on technology trends, and how they are relevant in the business environment.
Other duties, responsibilities and/or tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:
Strong knowledge of virtualization and VMWare
Strong knowledge of Active Directory management
Above average knowledge of public DNS/WEB/FTP services
Working knowledge of networking services (ie.
DHCP, DNS)
3+ years experience administering Microsoft Server (2008 R2, 2012 R2, and 2016), VMware vSphere 6.5, and SQL Server (2008 and 2012)
3+ years experience administering TCP/IP networks (subnetting, TCP, UDP, QOS, VOIP, routing, and routers)
Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, and MS Azure knowledge preferred.
Requires strong problem-solving skills, frequently under various sorts of constraints and stress.
Requires strong research skills and ability to use multiple resources to find answers to technical problems quickly.
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Associate degree in a related area with at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
