This role will be part of the new EMA Hub Sort Control Centre and initially part of the EMA Expansion Project.
On a day to day basis, responsible for the coordination, monitoring and communication of auto sort adjustments necessary to manage the physical manipulation of cargo within, into and out of the EMA HUB automated sort system, thus ensuring that the entire process meets both internal and external customer requirements and are completed in an organized, efficient, timely and safe manner.
Ensure 100% planned connectivity to all destinations services by EMA Hub.
Analyzing volume flows, shipment routings, country operations effectiveness and Hub & Gateway effectiveness.Key Responsibilities:Point of escalation for all MHE related issues and responsible for implementing the relevant process.Monitor material flows through the sort system ensuring flexibility and capacity of the system are managed and maintained at all times of the Operation.Communicate all auto sort and reload issues (ie… lane fulls, equipment down time);Help monitor, communicate and adjust accurately the auto sort system to maintain consistent flows and employ contingencies to achieve the best performance of the MHE as and when required.Record stops and extended down times for the Stops Report.
Report all top-off close outs in real time;Monitoring the interface between the customer systems, DHL systems STATS auto Sort, gateway, tier 2 and mechanical controls to prevent sort downtime from impact shipment transit and employ reactive decision making to prevent MHE downtime including the stakeholder requirements for example; local operations, Regional IT, local IT, ITS, Selex, Siemens, SCADA, Maintenance etc.Make real time routing changes to the sort plan and communicating changes to all relevant parties during pre Ops briefings and meetings with the Operations Management.Make decisions and communicate any/all changes during the operational window, coordinating between Ramp, Truck Watch, ULD control and Operations.Record feedback provided by Operations regarding adjustments to auto Sort information and instructions.Ensure all incidents causing any impact to Operations are reported, logged and form a daily hand over / shift report resulting in a smooth handover to the following shift,
– post Ops.Help compile the daily Sort report, Stop report and Feedback report.Monitor Auto Sort and communicate issues to Sort Control Centre Coordinators.Operations Sort Management – assist the facilitator and source arbitrator of IT issues during the sort operation.Make decisions, steer and influence key stakeholders and Operations Management Team to make real time auto Sorts adjustments based on dynamic changes during the Sort Operation.Execute contingency planning during MHE downtime.Responsible for reactive decision making to prevent MHE downtime including the stakeholder requirements for example; local operations, Regional IT, local IT, ITS, Selex, Siemens, SCADA, Maintenance etc.Responsible for liaison with Operations Management and Supervisory teams for elements of Operational decision making.Computer-aided control and monitoring of operational processes for the Sort.Understanding of the internal and external interfaces responsibility.Coordinate all changes, communications and troubleshooting through the Sort Control Team.Monitor messaging and interface during sort operations.Review data quality anomalies follow up and help resolve in real time.Monitor barcode quality.Regularly interface with parties responsible for all systems affecting the auto Sort and provide feedback on issues and reactive decision making.Relay pertinent information to the Sort Control Centre and Operations team.As part of the Sort Control Centre Team act as a liaison to the operations team taking responsibility for the communication of all other auto sort inquiries/issues.Track flow stops for the auto sorter and provide the information and recommendations through steering and influencing to the relevant department.Track flow stops for the auto sorter and provide the information and recommendations through steering and influencing to the relevant department.Skills & Qualifications:Strong planning and organizational skillsAbility to make decisions within the given frameworkAbility to work as part of a teamExcellent communications skill.Technical aptitudeGood airfreight and Customs knowledge is advantageousSort process knowledge is advantageousSound knowledge of DHL network and EMA OperationsAbility to work on their own initiativeMethodical and analyticalIT literate and familiarity with advanced MS Office applications, and other local and global DHL systems, including but not limited to: AHS3, PQT, SATS,UK HUB, MyNet, CAPMAN2-5 years DHL experience or experience gained within the Logistics industryEducated to University degree level in a suitable field or demonstrated business equivalentSubject-specific vocational training with years of relevant work experienceDHL is an equal opportunity employer.
