System Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Anchorage, AK that is seeking a System Administrator. Responsibilities:

• The System Administrator will be responsible for operations, maintenance, and configuration of a new enterprise network that extends to four (4) sites
• Deploy upgrades and patches to system/network hardware and software components in physical and virtual environments as required
• Solve complex problems with many variables
• Be the point of contact when working with vendors to submit service/support tickets and troubleshooting issues
• As a System Administrator, this role will assist with the assessment of vendor development/test strategies, perform systems troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common problems
• Assist in the installation and configuration of cables, routers, switches, servers, drives, etc.
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls, and upgrades systems with new releases and models
• Document processes and procedures and participate in team documentation reviews
• In this role, the System Administrator will develop expertise to train staff on new technologies, and contributing to an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies

Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

• Six (6) years of experience in Systems Engineering and/or Systems Administration with Bachelor’s in Science; Four (4) years of experience with Master’s degree; 0 years of experience with PhD; or 10 years of Systems Administration experience without a degree
• Ability to report onsite four (4) days a week
• Demonstrated ability to master new skills, tools, and technologies
• Demonstrated experience in VMware tools such as vSphere, ESXi hosts, and Virtual Machines
