Supply Chain Analyst

This is a Full-time position in Fairbanks, AK posted February 28, 2022.

Located approximately 26 miles from the City of Fairbanks, Fort Knox is a centre of excellence for the Company as one of the few cold weather heap leach facilities in the world. In 2016, the site poured its seven millionth ounce of gold, 20 years into its mine life. The initial Gilmore Expansion Project is expected to extend mine life to 2030.Job DescriptionResponsible for reporting, analysis, and planning covering a broad spectrum of Supply Chain (SC) activities, including SC associated KPIs and participating in special projects. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting in end-to-end inventory management, optimization of SC operations, and data management in support of all facets of SC operations with a standing goal of procuring and managing inventory more effectively, improving end user support, and producing quality, repeatable results. There will be direct supervisory responsibilities and the responsibility for assisting SC personnel in achieving a safe, productive, cost-effective workforce.Job Responsibilities1. Track, report, and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) related to effective SC operations through data collection and analysis2. Analyze SC challenges and assist in developing adjustment strategies for material management and procurement practices to promote consistent, effective operations.3. Analyze SC successes and assist in developing sustainment strategies in order to establish best practices.4. Develop and sustain new metrics in support of continuous improvement and personnel management as requested by SC leadership.5. Provide reporting and analytic inputs to the SC team.6. Summarize and communicate analyses and recommendations via charts, graphs, and other media for distribution to varying levels of company leadership.7. Routinely coordinate with site planners to facilitate SC support of operations and schedule compliance requirements.8. Supervise the Inventory Control Specialist and guide their activities.9. Provide oversight for Supply and Demand analytics and assist in evaluating end user forecasts to help ensure effective SC actions are taken.10. Provide guidance to Item Catalogue Gatekeepers within our SC systems; may be asked to conduct task observations to ensure employees are performing tasks effectively.11. Assist with master data management efforts and provide actionable recommendations to SC leadership.12. Establish and maintain reporting tools in Reports Now, Power BI, and other company systems to help sustain best practices and identify opportunities for improvements.13. Works closely with Warehouse supervisor and Procurement group.14. Maintain high personal standards for safety, attendance, work ethic, and a general knowledge of the performance of Supply Chain activities.15. Demonstrate a willingness to expand knowledge in Supply Chain operations by pursuing further skills enhancement training.16. Establish and maintain clear, proactive communications with internal customers and stakeholders.17. Punctuality and regular attendance required.18. Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.19. Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.20. Perform other duties as required.Education and Experience1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution in any of the following fields:* Business Administration or Management* Supply Chain* Finance* Economics* Engineering* Accounting* Computer Science/data management* Applicant may substitute equivalent experience and training but must show demonstrated experience and formal training.2. Three or more years of Warehouse or Inventory Management experience required in a Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) environment.3. APICS Inventory Management Certification (CPIM) preferred.4. Experience in a field involving heavy equipment with material handling and distribution preferred.Skills1. Ability to work well with others, manage time effectively, and work with minimal supervision.2. Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.3. Advanced knowledge of Excel and data mining; ability to translate data into conclusions or actions for improvement, and experience with process improvement.4. Advanced working knowledge of JDE or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is desirable.5. Advanced ability to develop inventory, consumption, and spend related reports in Reports Now Software or similar software.6. High-level ability to troubleshoot supply chain challenges using various software tools and company resources.7. Ability to develop instruction materials for supervisor-led training.8. Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.9.
