Meritor
Overview: Meritor liaison with Customers suppliers and various Meritor internal personnel.
Job Responsibilities:
• Accountable for reductions in Customer PPM, Supplier PPM, and Warranty R/100 metrics
• Champion 8D problem solving teams formed to address customer and in-plant quality concerns
• Key customer contact regarding quality related issues
• Pro-active development of identified “Strategic” suppliers with emphasis Quality, Delivery, PPAP, etc.
• Responsible for the quality of incoming parts ensuring all components released to assembly meet all Meritor requirements and specifications
• Conducting supplier quality surveys, ensure timely closure to supplier defective material notices, be intimately involved with suppliers processes and issues
• Working cross-functionally within the PDIP process with program management, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and material planning
• Ensuring supplier PPAPs timing commitments are met on new programs per PDIP.
Verify PPAPs meet the ISO9001 requirements as specified by A.I.A.G.
and internal Meritor requirements
• Working closely with QC Lab Specialists regarding inspection and analysis of non-conforming incoming material to assist and expedite supplier containment and subsequent corrective action
• Traveling up to 30% to supplier/customer locations for corrective actions verification(s), on-site PPAPs, new supplier Pre-Business Reviews, 2nd Party ISO9001 audit, and Process/Control Plan audits, etc.
• Lead in the development, implementation, and maintenance of improved Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies at ARM and at suppliers.
• Working closely with Meritor buyer(s) on supplier sourcing and de-sourcing decisions.
• Providing leadership, training and support for 8D problem solving activities at Meritor and various suppliers as necessary.
• Publishing and distributing required supplier quality related reports.
• Complying with the Meritor’s written environmental policy.
• Comply with all Meritor written environmental (ISO 14001) and quality ISO9001 policies Qualification:
• BS degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline, or related field with a minimum of three to five years hands-on experience in a Supplier Quality role, OR an Associate Degree in a technical field with a minimum six to eight years experience in a Quality role.
• Thorough understanding of ISO9001 requirements and the Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP).
• Detailed working knowledge of the PPAP process and associated process documentation including but not limited to FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, process capabilities, gage R&R’s.
