Without this important key to the operation of Columbia Steel, we would not have the relationships we have built with new and current customers.This is a Monday through Friday, day shift job with some overtime allowed occasionally when the workload allows.Essential Tasks:* Pull material for customer orders.* Band material for shipping.* Operate forklift in a safe and professional manner according to company policies.* Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.* Assemble and load orders onto LTL, truckload, and/or private carrier.* Operate a spray gun in the application of paint.* Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.* Have a positive attitude.* Have a strong safety mindset.* Assist in shipping related tasks. Process packing slips and UPS work daily. Fill in for the forklift driver on lunches and vacations. Check inventory daily against short sheet and report needed adjustments.Knowledge / Training:* Must meet physical requirements: Able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver 50 pounds on a routine basis. Able to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, climb steps, and twist throughout a shift.* Ability to stand for extended periods of time.* Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to high heat and humidity indoors, during the summer months.* Ability to read a tape measure and apply basic math and computer skills.* Use all the required hand tools necessary to perform duties.
