Job Summary The Senior System Administrator is responsible for architecting, implementing, testing, documentation and administration of physical and virtual systems infrastructure and enterprise technologies, ensuring high availability and security of business applications/systems/services.

The Senior System Administrator will stay abreast of emerging technology and industry best practices and lead various technology projects and initiatives.

This role defines enterprise-wide standards and practices for technologies related to systems administration and is responsible for documentation of processes and procedures necessary to meet and maintain SLAs and business objectives.

This role also is responsible for implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning, configuration and maintenance that are consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

The Senior Systems Administrator is assigned to support Production & Datacenter networks, QA, Development and/or Corporate office networks.

Specific responsibilities vary by assigned group.

Responsibilities Participate in development of strategic goals and plans for systems/infrastructure and software relative to datacenter facilities, capacity planning and storage solutions.

Conduct cost benefit analysis of infrastructure systems and technology solutions.

Explore, plan, design, architect, and implement new technologies and solutions, physical and virtual, based on business needs (HA, performance SLAs, Scalable) and consistent with industry best practices Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure consistent provisioning, uptime, and performance.

Responsible for complete automation and auto provisioning of infrastructure (Virtual and Physical) Implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure system security through secure system access, monitoring and control.

Participate as necessary in routine security evaluations.

Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot and performance-tune hardware, software, and peripheral devices.

Anticipate issues and employ mitigation strategies.

Ensure system templates/images, firmware and vendor-related patches are up-to-date.

Perform standard configuration, management, and maintenance tasks of all systems both physical and virtual (MS, VM, Unix, Linux).

Monitor, test, and tune system performance; preserve and provide system log files and performance metric data as needed.

Support Database Administration and Database Engineering teams as it pertains to database infrastructure Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles and integrate infrastructure builds with application deployment process.

Practice asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation Ensure secure user access and role validation processes Perform security audits leading to identification and mitigation of security threats to enterprise data.

Recommend and implement changes where necessary.

Document and perform regular system backups and restore and ensure that systems/assets can be recovered Recommend and execute modifications to systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance in accordance with established Change control protocol.

Ensure compliance with policies, standards, licensing agreements, configuration guidelines, and best-practices for maintaining regulatory compliance.

Conduct research on Windows, Linux and VMware related to HW and SW in support of procurement and system infrastructure development and enhancement efforts.

Create/provide required reports in response to business user needs Develop, document, and maintain OS system training materials and systems documentation for educating end users and new IT staff.

Conduct cross-training of peers, groups and stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications Basic Requirements: Bachelor degree in computer science, information sciences or related field or equivalent experience 5 years of systems administration experience 3 years of experience setting up and installing enterprise systems and technologies 3 years’ datacenter experience, including a 24/7 environment 3 years’ experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g.

Ansible, Powershell, Python, Terraform, Packer) Preferred Qualifications: VMware certified Microsoft MCSE or RedHat RHCE certified Experience with Surescripts’ software Experience with basic development lifecycles (agile, GIT) We are currently working from home.

Offices are open to those who want to go in with health safety protocols in place.

This position will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule, where you will be able to split time between work from home and onsite work at our newly designed office.
