Sr Quality and Safety Analyst

Lifespan

This is a Contract position in Providence, RI posted March 3, 2022.

Summary:

The OpX Senior Analyst and Process Improvement Consultant may report
to the Vice President of Operational
Excellence (OpX) or to a Director or Manager in Operational Excellence division
depending on assigned departmental duties/responsibilities. Under general
supervision and within Lifespan established policies and procedures provides
measurement support technical training and project coordination aimed at
performance improvement within Lifespan and the various affiliates. Supports the performance improvement agenda
of Lifespan health system partners through the facilitation of key objectives
aimed at patient/family center care excellence and physician engagement.

Under general direction the
ideal candidate leads facilitates and supports cross-functional teams to
improve and redesign operational processes critical to safe high quality
efficient patient and family-centered care by leveraging Lean Six Sigma and
Change Management methodologies. Working closely with organizational
leadership serves as the leading process management resource by assisting in
the development of standards tools and training and by acting as internal
consultant for selecting managing evaluating sustaining and spreading the
solutions and innovations resulting from improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

Provides support and
leadership for Lifespans Quality Priorities service and treatment settings.

Collaborates with information
services vendors department managers frontline staff and outside
organizations on obtaining accurate reliable and timely data supporting
performance improvement activities.

Designs and delivers methodologies and process improvement programs
aimed at decreasing variation and eliminating waste. Manages assigned administrative aspects of projects
directly or through departmental secretary to include but not limited to:
scheduling rooms producing program announcements handouts and follow-up communications;
arranging for provision of audiovisual hardware and software; overseeing
registration of participants preparing program documentation as needed.
Provide assessment and program outcome measures.

Functions as leader and/or participant
in OpX initiatives. Facilitates
consults and engages physicians and staff at all levels in the Lean Six Sigma
and OpX processes. Lead site or
system-wide improvement teams using various performance improvement
methodologies (e.g. DMAIC methodologies six sigma team leadership root cause
analysis FMEA). Responsible for
collecting data and leading team toward implementing successful improvement
strategies. Coordinates and supports the implementation of improvement tactics
in alignment with organizational priorities.

Identifies
collects and analyzes data specific to improvement projects. Uses collected data to define and measure
quality processes identify variation from accepted standards of practice and
define patterns and trends. Facilitate
appropriate intervention and follow-up to include documentation and monitoring
of corrective action plans developed in answer to quality-compromised
issues. Align data collection to
accurately measure process steps (under investigation) for improving quality
program initiatives. Monitor quality
improvement programs and act as a resource on quality metrics and performance
measurement for Lifespan.

Identifies and presents best practices and other
tactics needed to improve performance.
Presents educates frontline staff and other key stake holders on
tactics and execution. Documents monitors and measures the effectiveness of
quality programs as directed. Monitors and makes suggestions to improve best
practices and their integration into existing systems Responsible for creating
professional reports and presentations that provide quality information
throughout the organization.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Other information:

EDUCATION

Bachelors
Degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related Healthcare Field
(with associated technical experience) is required; Masters degree is
preferred. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification is required for hire
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification required within 24 months of employment.
Proficient skills in Microsoft Office i.e. Word Excel Access PowerPoint;
Minitab as well as other electronic health record and computer applications
are required. Proficient skills in SQL database management and custom reporting
tools. Advanced data display skills are
required for analysis and graphing. Experience in group facilitation project
management and providing training and instruction to users at all levels is
required. Five (5) years of related experience is required.
